How do I offset my purchases with STAR$®?
Simply launch your CapitaStar App and tap on the “Pay” icon at the bottom of your screen. Upon scanning the merchant's QR code, you can select "Offset with STAR$" to enter the amount you wish to use. Slide to pay to complete your transaction.
Can I offset my purchases with only STAR$® even though I have eCapitaVoucher present in my eWallet?
Yes, you can offset your purchase with only STAR$®. Simply set the value of eCapitaVoucher to zero and adjust the STAR$® value to your desired amount.
Can I only pay with eCapitaVoucher and the remaining amount using other forms of payment other than STAR$®?
Yes, you can adjust the STAR$® value to zero and key in the value of eCapitaVouchers you wish to utilise. Thereafter, if you have balance payment, you can proceed to pay according to each merchant's available payment mode.
Is there a maximum amount of STAR$® that I can pay in each transaction?
You can only use up to 1,000,000 STAR$® (worth $1,000) to offset your purchases in each transaction. If your purchase is more than $1,000, you can tap the "Pay" icon again and proceed to scan the merchant's QR code to pay the remaining amount in another transaction.
Can I use any amount of STAR$® to offset for my purchases?
You can offset any amount of STAR$® for your purchases according to the denominations accepted by respective merchants.
As some merchants only accept payment in denominations of $5, the combination of eCapitaVouchers and STAR$® used will be required to be in multiples of $5.
We seek your understanding as we work towards getting all our merchants to accept denominations down to the cents.
What do I do if I overpay or underpay?
As STAR$® are non-refundable after use, we will always recommend that you check with the merchant on the amount to be paid via the App before confirming the transaction.
For underpayment: You can choose to top up the payment using eCapitaVoucher, STAR$® or in another payment mode that is accepted by the merchant.
For overpayment: You can request for the merchant to refund you in either cash or arrange for other modes of reimbursement. Eg. purchasing another item of similar value. However, this will be solely up to the merchant's discretion.
eCapitaVouchers and STAR$® that have been used are non-refundable.
