STAR$® Accumulation & Expiry

  • 1. Must I approach Customer Service Counter to accumulate my STAR$? What do I do with the STAR$?

    Shoppers who are CapitaStar members and have their scanned / uploaded receipts approved will automatically accumulate STAR$® .

    STAR$® can be used to exchange for CapitaVouchers or deals from the CapitaStar mobile app. Members are required to provide their Singapore Identity Card, Singapore Permanent Resident Card, Work Permit or passport personally at the Customer Service Counters / Concierges at the participating CapitaLand Malls (except Clarke Quay). STAR$® used for redemption will be deducted from the system automatically.

  • 2. What is the minimum amount needed in a single receipt to redeem STAR$? How many receipts can I use?

    You will need to make a minimum spending of $20 in a single receipt to start enjoying the STAR$® accumulation. You can scan as many receipts as long as it is not later than the next day of purchase and not more than 10 same-day receipts from the same store.

    Example :

    • For purchase made on 1 January, receipts must be scanned / uploaded not later than 2 January 11.59pm.
    • For every dollar spent, you will be entitled to STAR$® rounded down to the nearest dollar.
    • STAR$® are awarded based on the nett purchase value after deduction of discounts at all participating retailers.
  • 3. What should I do if I have problems capturing the receipts?

    If there are difficulties capturing the receipts, you may approach the Customer Service Assistants or contact our CapitaStar Customer Service line at Tel: (65) 6631-9931 /email: ask_us@capitastar.com.

    Customer Service Counters / Concierges are located at participating CapitaLand Malls (except Clarke Quay).

  • 4. If I have receipts that are given to me, can I use it to earn the STAR$?

    STAR$® can only be awarded for your own purchases. If any shopper is found using receipts other than their own purchases to accumulate STAR$® , CapitaStar reserves the right to terminate their membership.

  • 5. What is the validity of my STAR$? (Is there a cut-off date for accumulation of STAR$?) What happens to my STAR$ earned in the current year after 31 Dec?

    With effect from 1st October 2018, instead of having all STAR$ expire in June the next year, your STAR$ will now expire one calendar year after* - based on the quarter of the year your transaction date falls in.

    *The expiry date will fall on the last day of the month.

  • 6. Can I continue to use my current membership to earn STAR$ in the following year?

    Shoppers can continue to spend and accumulate STAR$ as long as their membership is valid.

  • 7. Where are the locations of the Self-Service Kiosks?

    All Self-Service Kiosks are located within the participating CapitaLand Malls and operate from Monday to Sunday, 10am to 10pm. Please refer to the table below for the locations of the Self-Service Kiosks.

  • 8. Which are the outlets that qualify for STAR$ accumulation?

    All outlets with printed receipts / tax invoices within the participating CapitaLand Malls qualify for STAR$® accumulation except the following:

  • 9. Must I scan in the receipts on the same day of purchase?

    You are encouraged to scan the receipts not later than the next day of purchases.

    Example :

    • For purchases made on 1 January 2017, receipts must be scanned / uploaded not later than 2 January 2017, 11.59pm.
  • 10. What if I forgot to update my receipts on the day of purchase?

    Members must upload their receipts not later than the next day of purchase in order to enjoy the accumulation of STAR$® . Retrospective STAR$® will not be entertained.

    Alternatively, Self-Service Kiosks are located conveniently within the participating CapitaLand Malls to facilitate the uploading of receipts. 

  • 11. Can I scan my receipts made at another CapitaLand Malls?

    Yes, you can scan your receipts at any of the participating CapitaLand Malls not later than the next day of purchase.

  • 12. How many receipts can I scan in a day?

    You can scan as many receipts in a day as long as they are receipts from purchases made by you and the total number of same-day receipts from the same outlet does not exceed 10.

  • 13. Can I use receipts made before the day I join the rewards programme?

    Receipts used must be from the day you joined the rewards programme.

  • 14. What is the maximum number of STAR$ that I can collect on the single day?

    For every $1 captured, you will earn 5 STAR$ (1 STAR$ for supermarkets & food courts). You can accumulate up to a maximum of 5,000 STAR$ a day. PAssion Card-CapitaStar members whom have activated their privileges can accumulate up to a maximum of 7,500 STAR$ a day.

  • 15. Which are the participating CapitaLand Malls in this programme?

    You can earn STAR$ when you shop at participating CapitaLand Malls (refer to list below) by scanning your receipts at the Self-Service Kiosks located conveniently within these CapitaLand Malls. Alternatively, you can scan your receipts via the CapitaStar app.

  • 16. Why can't I scan more than one receipt at the same time?

    Scanning more than one receipt at the same time will result in missing or confusing information being captured by the system. The receipts will be declined or you may end up with the wrong amount of STAR$ being issued for your spending.

  • 17. Why does the system decline my receipts?

    Declination of receipts usually happens when receipts scanned:

    • are not from the list of participating CapitaLand Malls (see #15 )
    • are not accepted in the programme (see Participating Outlets in #8 )
    • do not have the Mall Name, Shop Name or Unit Number
    • have conflicting information on the Mall Name, Shop Name or Unit Number
    • do not have transaction date or time
    • do not have receipt or transaction numbers
    • do not state the total purchase amount
    • are incomplete or cut-off

    You may wish to seek assistance from the Customer Service Assistants or CapitaStar Customer Service line (Tel: (65) 6631-9931 / email: ask_us@capitastar.com ) if you have difficulties scanning or uploading your receipts.

  • 18. My receipts are too long and cannot be scanned or captured fully, what can I do?

    For long receipts, you may fold it at portion describing the products purchase and scan it. Please ensure these crucial information are seen:

    • Mall Name, Shop Name and Unit Number
    • Transaction date and time
    • Receipt, transaction or tax invoice numbers
    • Total purchase amount
  • 19. The shops do not issue printed receipts, can I still use the handwritten receipts to earn STAR$®?

    You can earn STAR$® for handwritten receipts, as long as it contains these information:

    • Mall Name, Shop Name and Unit Number
    • Transaction date and time
    • Receipt, transaction or tax invoice numbers
    • Total purchase amount

    Please note that handwritten receipts will take at least 14 working days (Usual: 7 working days) to process.
