STAR$® Accumulation & Expiry

1. Must I approach Customer Service Counter to accumulate my STAR$? What do I do with the STAR$?
Shoppers who are CapitaStar members and have their scanned / uploaded receipts approved will automatically accumulate STAR$® .
STAR$® can be used to exchange for eDeals, rebates, rewards, exclusive merchandise and more via the CapitaStar App; and promotion gifts from time to time at our Customer Service Counters. Members are required to provide their Malaysian Identity Card, Malaysian Permanent Resident Card, Work Permit or passport personally at the Customer Service Counters at the participating CapitaLand Malls in Malaysia. STAR$® used for redemption will be deducted from the system automatically.

2. What is the minimum amount needed in a single receipt to redeem STAR$? How many receipts can I use?
You will need to make a minimum spending of RM30 in a single receipt to start enjoying the STAR$® accumulation. You can scan as many receipts as long as it is not later than the next day of purchase and not more than 3 same-day receipts from the same store.
Example :
- For purchase made on 1 January, receipts must be scanned / uploaded not later than 2 January 11.59pm.
- For every dollar spent, you will be entitled to STAR$® rounded down to the nearest dollar.
- STAR$® are awarded based on the nett purchase value after deduction of discounts, rebates, points redemption or vouchers at all participating retailers.

3. What should I do if I have problems capturing the receipts?
If there are difficulties capturing the receipts, you may approach the Customer Service Counter at participating CapitaLand Malls in Malaysia or drop us an email at ask_us@capitastar.com.my.

4. If I have receipts that are given to me, can I use it to earn the STAR$?
STAR$® can only be awarded for your own purchases. If any shopper is found using receipts other than their own purchases to accumulate STAR$® , CapitaStar reserves the right to terminate their membership.

5. What is the validity of my STAR$ (For Malaysia only)? Is there a cut-off date for accumulation of STAR$?) What happens to my STAR$ earned in the current year after 31 Dec?
<For CapitaStar Members in Malaysia Only> STAR$® earned in a calendar year will expire on the 31 December of that year. However, shoppers are given an additional six months' grace period to redeem their STAR$® .
CapitaStar may from time to time, amend the validity period of STAR$® and STAR$® not redeemed by the expiry date shall automatically expire.

6. Can I continue to use my current membership to earn STAR$ in the following year?
Shoppers can continue to spend and accumulate STAR$ as long as their membership is valid.

7. Which are the outlets that qualify for STAR$ accumulation?
All outlets with printed receipts / tax invoices within the participating CapitaLand Malls qualify for STAR$® accumulation except the following:

8. Must I scan in the receipts on the same day of purchase?
You are encouraged to scan the receipts not later than the next day of purchases.
Example :
- For purchases made on 1 January 2017, receipts must be scanned / uploaded not later than 2 January 2017, 11.59pm.

9. What if I forgot to upload my receipts on the day of purchase?
Members must upload their receipts not later than the next day of purchase in order to enjoy the accumulation of STAR$® . Retrospective STAR$® will not be entertained.

10. Can I scan my receipts made at another CapitaLand Malls?
Yes, you can scan your receipts at any of the participating CapitaLand Malls not later than the next day of purchase.

11. How many receipts can I scan in a day?
You can scan as many receipts in a day as long as they are receipts from purchases made. However, STAR$ will not be awarded for subsequent receipt(s) upload once you have hit the cap as per below:
- Cap of 3 receipts for same store purchase in a day
- Cap of 20 receipts across all malls in a rolling 7-day period
- Cap of maximum 1.500 STAR$ a day

12. Can I use receipts made before the day I join the rewards programme?
Receipts used must be from the day you joined the rewards programme.

13. What is the maximum number of STAR$ that I can collect on the single day?
For every RM1 captured, you will earn 1 STAR$. You can accumulate up to a maximum of 1,500 STAR$ a day, unless stated otherwise.

14. Which are the participating CapitaLand Malls in this programme?
You can earn STAR$ when you shop at participating CapitaLand Malls (refer to list below) by scanning your receipts via the CapitaStar App.

15. Why can't I scan more than one receipt at the same time?
Scanning more than one receipt at the same time will result in missing or confusing information being captured by the system. The receipts will be declined or you may end up with the wrong amount of STAR$ being issued for your spending.

16. Why does the system decline my receipts?
Declination of receipts usually happens when receipts scanned:
- are not from the list of participating CapitaLand Malls (see #14)
- are not accepted in the programme (see Participating Outlets in #7)
- do not have the Mall Name, Shop Name or Unit Number
- have conflicting information on the Mall Name, Shop Name or Unit Number
- do not have transaction date or time
- do not have receipt or transaction numbers
- do not state the total purchase amount
- are incomplete or cut-off

17. My receipts are too long and cannot be scanned or captured fully, what can I do?
For long receipts, you may fold it at portion describing the products purchase and scan it. Please ensure these crucial information are seen:
- Mall Name, Shop Name and Unit Number
- Transaction date and time
- Receipt, transaction or tax invoice numbers
- Total purchase amount

18. The shops do not issue printed receipts, can I still use the handwritten receipts to earn STAR$®?
You can earn STAR$® for handwritten receipts, as long as it contains these information:
- Mall Name, Shop Name and Unit Number
- Transaction date and time
- Receipt, transaction or tax invoice numbers
- Total purchase amount
Please note that handwritten receipts will take at least 10 days.

19. What can I do if I have issues with the rejected receipts?
If you have any issues with the rejected receipts, you may write to ask_us@capitastar.com.my to appeal or ask for more information within 10 days from the receipt date. We regret to inform that we are unable to process your appeal after the said timeline.
