  • 1. What is StarPay?

    StarPay is a secure and easy-to-use mobile payment service within the CapitaStar app which allows you to make payments at participating retailers in participating CapitaLand Malls. 

  • 2. What is the difference between CapitaStar and StarPay?

    CapitaStar is a card-less rewards programme that rewards shoppers with STAR$ when they make purchases at participating retailers in participating CapitaLand Malls. StarPay is an ePayment service that is accessible within the CapitaStar application.

  • 3. What are the benefits of using StarPay?

    StarPay is a fuss-free and contactless mobile payment experience which reduces the hassle of searching for cash or credit card in your physical wallet or purse. 

    When using StarPay to make payment, you will receive STAR$ awarding automatically for eligible purchases above $1, without having to scan your receipts. If you do not use StarPay, you can only earn STAR$ when you scan your receipts (for purchases above $20) via the CapitaStar mobile app. 

    * Existing daily cap of STAR$ earnings still applies. 

     

  • 4. Am I eligible for StarPay?

    All CapitaStar members (aged 16 years old and above) with a valid participating debit/credit card can use StarPay via the CapitaStar app.

  • 5. Where can I use StarPay?

    StarPay is currently accepted at participating retailers in Raffles City Singapore. We will be expanding to more CapitaLand Malls very soon.

  • 6. Which devices are compatible with StarPay?

    StarPay will work on Apple devices iOS 9 and above & Android devices 5.0 and above. Do ensure that your mobile app is updated to the latest version.

  • 7. Do I need to have a working internet access for StarPay to work?

    Yes, StarPay requires a working internet access.

  • 8. How do I know that whether the shop accepts StarPay?

    From 18 April 2018 onwards, look out for the StarPay wobbler on the counter of the shop. 

Safety & Security

  • 9. How secure is StarPay?

    CapitaStar has partnered with Wirecard, one of the leading specialists in payment solutions, to launch StarPay. With Wirecard as the payment gateway, security standards for payment processing are applied strictly.

  • 10. What should I do if my device is missing?

    As Device Authentication is required for payments using StarPay, other people will not be able to use your device to make payment without authentication. 

    Note: If you use TouchID, we recommend that you should only store your own fingerprint on your mobile device to prevent others from accessing and using your phone. 

    You may call your credit card issuing bank to suspend your credit card. 

Using StarPay: Adding Credit/Debit Cards

  • 11. Which cards can I add to StarPay?

    StarPay is only accepting American Express Credit Cards that are issued in Singapore for now.

    Please note that these cards are not accepted with StarPay: 

    1. Bank-issued American Express Cards (i.e. DBS Takashimaya American Express Card)

    2. American Express Corporate Cards

    3. American Express Cards issued by overseas American Express and banks

  • 12. How do I activate StarPay?

    StarPay is a feature on our CapitaStar mobile.

    To navigate to the StarPay tab,

    1. In the CapitaStar mobile app: Click on the Wallet icon at the top left corner

    2. Navigate to ‘StarPay’ tab

  • 13. How do I add a card to StarPay?

    Open the CapitaStar app and tap on ‘+Add Card Now’ on the ‘StarPay’ tab

    For your security, you need to have your Device Authentication activated before you can add a card. You will also receive a One Time Password (OTP) after entering your credit card details. Once your card is successfully added, you can find it under the ‘StarPay’ tab in your CapitaStar app. 

  • 14. How many cards can I add to StarPay?

    You can add a maximum of 5 cards.

  • 15. Do I have to add my card to StarPay again if I am using a different device to login?

    Card information stored within StarPay is tagged to each individual device. If you use a different device, you will have to add your card again.

  • 23. Is there a minimum spend to earn STAR$ if I make a purchase using StarPay?

    For StarPay purchases, the minimum spend required to earn STAR$ has been lowered to $1.

  • 24. Do I still need to scan my receipt to earn STAR$ if I make a purchase using StarPay?

    No, you do not need to scan your receipt if you make payment using StarPay. The STAR$ earned will be automatically credited to your CapitaStar account. STAR$ issuance is based on NETT amount paid via StarPay and the qualifying amount excludes payment made by CapitaVoucher.

  • 25. Why did I not receive STAR$ after making a purchase using StarPay?

    STAR$ are automatically awarded if you make your purchase using StarPay. If you have just completed your payment via StarPay but do not see your STAR$, check back a few minutes later as the awarding could still be in progress.

    It may also be that you have hit the daily cap of STAR$ that you can earn in a day, in which case you will not be awarded STAR$ for subsequent purchases.
